Mission.
Design a bespoke cocktail cooler table for Virgin’s Bimini Beach Club VIP Cabanas in 1 day.
Requirements.
Understanding the initial needs of the project helps to provide a clear picture of the functions that the table should satisfy.
Inspiration.
This single image of a woven freestanding basket was provided to me by Virgin Voyages Architects. This gave me a starting point and helped me understand the direction for the project.
Dimensions + Floor Plans.
The cabana furniture is meant to be easily arranged dependent on the amount of people and likes of the individual guests. It was important to understand the environment and how the table will work with the other furniture items.

How it Works.
Step 1.
An insulated cooler is easily inserted and removed from the basket in order for the VIP host to refill with ice and drinks.
Step 2.
A wood ring top is locked into place over top metal framework. This shape allows easy access to beverages in the cooler compartment and also allows for drinks to be set on the surface.
Step 3.
Wood tray nests on top of the ring and the ridge at the top allows for it to be flipped over and lock into place.
Step 4.
Top surface flips over to reveal a subtly Virgin branded graphic. This design was intend to be discreet since non Virgin Voyage cruisers would also be using the Bimini Beach Resort.
Step 5.
Tray surface is removable so that it can be used in other places in the Cabana.
Details.
Metal circular frame fits into wooden routed channel. Tray nests comfortably on top.

Rough Dimensions.
Cabana Furniture Model.
After the Cooler table was signed off on, I modeled the contents of the entire cabana to ensure they all vibed well together and that the dimensions and scale of the table was appropriate.
